Museums of the Arroyo Day
Six museums in Los Angeles and Pasadena will open their doors – free of charge – from 12 to 5pm and provide shuttles to transport you to and from the various locations throughout the afternoon.
In Pasadena, the Gamble House and the Pasadena Museum of History (PMH) and the Feynes Mansion are participants. Visitors at PMH will enjoy two new exhibitions that take a look at art from different perspectives. “Art in the Street: 25 Years of the Pasadena Chalk Festival” and “The Art of Getting There: Railroad Inspired Artistry.” Also offered: Mini-tours of historic Fenyes Mansion, tours of the Finnish Folk Art Museum, and a special model train display from the ’20s, ’30s and Beyond Model Railroad. Be inspired by a chalk artist in the act of creating a mural, and beautify the campus with your own chalk masterpiece!
Other participant museums:
The Autry’s Historic Southwest Museum, Mt. Washington Campus
Heritage Square Museum
The Los Angeles Police Museum
The Lummis Home and Garden
Last entrance to any museum is at 4:00pm.
